Palliative Care

Hospice of East Texas is the only hospice that has assembled a team of Palliative Care doctors and nurses who provide consultations to patients and families who want to have a discussion about the practical and spiritual concerns of coming to terms with end-of-life care.

Pathways

PATHWAYS helps patients and families throughout all phases of treatment from aggressive to palliative care. Living with advanced or chronic illness is challenging. PATHWAYS helps address these challenges.

Pediatrics

The Hospice of East Texas is the only hospice in this area that has developed a pediatric hospice program to provide specialized care for families facing the incredible challenge of caring for a child with a life-limiting illness.

Emotional Support

Chaplain and Bereavement services are available to patients and their family members as part of the overall Hospice of East Texas caring experience.

Veterans

In 2001, the Department of Veterans Affairs established their Hospice and Palliative Care Initiative which created a national network of end-of-life care advocates for our veterans

Pet Peace of Mind

Pets play an important role in the life of many families.  Through Pet Peace of Mind, staff and volunteers connect hospice families with rescue agencies and pet adoption groups so that patients do not have to worry about their pet’s current or future needs.
