This extraordinary facility, lovingly known as HomePlace, has provided specialized inpatient care for terminally ill patients in East Texas for over 25 years.
HomePlace is a testament to years of vision, dedication, and generosity. The center was named in honor of Robert M. Rogers, a prominent businessman and philanthropist whose family’s lead gift launched the capital campaign to make this dream a reality. Alongside its administrative offices and meeting rooms, HomePlace stands as a unique and comforting space designed to meet the needs of patients during their final stages of life, while supporting their loved ones through every step.
A Place Like No Other
As the only dedicated inpatient hospice facility in the region, HomePlace has maintained its heartfelt commitment to patient and family-centered care for a quarter of a century. From the thoughtful architecture and serene gardens to the welcoming furnishings and meaningful artwork, every element was created with care and purpose. Its name captures the essence of its mission: to serve as a home and haven for families during one of life’s most tender moments.
The enduring presence of HomePlace is made possible by the unwavering love, service, and generosity of donors, volunteers, and the community. Since its founding on November 6, 2000, it has stood as a powerful reminder of what East Texans can achieve together.
